Where on earth is Dzanani?

We are so far away from anything that its worth a post just to find us!

We're in between these two towns in Limpopo

If approaching Mamvuka from Louis Trichardt (which is known on Googlemaps as Makhado) you will drive over the Soutpansberg Mountains and through two tunnels. After the tunnels look out for two general dealer stores. They are the only two buildings you will see on this stretch of road. Immediately after passing the second store you should slow down and turn right. There is a dirt road but no sign post. Opposite the dirt road is the sign board in the photograph above. Drive along that dirt road for about 8km.

This is a normal sighting on the road towards Mamvuka

If you would like to donate money to Dzanani please........

Thank you for your support.

There is no running water in Mamvuka Village so everyone goes to the river to wash their clothes and collect bottles of water

Needs - our wish list (non-essential items)

We would love to upgrade our office, and install a real bookshelf instead of using carboard and bricks to balance our files. As you can see we keep good records of how we spend the money that is donated to us.

Current file storage in office

We have three computers, but two have broken and are beyond repair. A new computer would really help our administrators. The printer we use is on loan from Sam Maphari, one of the founders of Dzanani.

The only computer that works here

  • ·          music system (to be used by the children on afternoons when they do cultural dancing and drama)
  • ·         large deep freeze (to store food)
  • ·         computer, printer, office table, chairs and bookshelf
  • ··        netball hoop (so that the girls can play netball)
  • ·         soccer balls (so that they boys can play soccer)
  • ·         kit for soccer team and netball team
  • ·         school uniform (all sizes):
    • grey, black or khakhi trousers
