Youth drop-in centre

URGENT UPDATE:
We do not have any food so we cannot feed the children and so they do not come to the drop-in centre. This has been the situation since March. We hope to start feeding again in early June with the a four month supply of maize promised to us by one of the stores situated near our village on the N1.

Home-based care: a step by step guide to what we do

Home-based carer Sharon Makhari walks into the yard of one of her clients.
There's lots of work to do when she opens up this door
These blankets are the only mattress she has to lie on all day
Sharon cleans the room, talking to her client about her medicine and checks to see if she needs to go to the clinic

She uses a little wood fire to cook pap

Sharon is just one of the team of home based carers who together care for 53 sick people in the village who have no family to look after them.

Top (L - R): Mukondeleli Mashavha, Virginia Mathari, Khathutshelo Matidza, Sharon Makhari, Angie Ratshikombo (and her son Matodzi Tshishonga, Cecelia Mudau (and her grandson Mufhumudzi Nkhatshiani). Bottom (L - R): Tshilidzi Mutsharini, Mpho Phalandwa, Susan Manena.

Needs - what you can donate

Needs
The kind of food we would like to give to the children who come to the Youth drop-in centre on a Monday and Tuesday. Often we don't have the money to buy this food. If we have pap, we will give the children pap.

At Dzanani we rely on donations to feed the children the food they need.

Please take a look at our monthly food shopping list below and our wish list of other items we'll love to give to the people we serve.
